An early summer MRI of Evya's right shoulder revealed a labral tear so a summer priority was getting the repair surgery.

In a nice gesture, she was Swimmer of the Week for the week of the surgery for her non-competition contributions to the team. She insisted we wait until after the surgery to submit a picture because she wanted a pictorial representation of her swim season.

As Hayley and Tyrian started to dig into the planning of their 2026 wedding, Tyrian got down on his knees to ask Evya to be a groomsperson and ringbearer. The request came with gifts!

Tyrian and Hayley started an annual BBQ tradition 4 years ago in Monterey, but this July they moved to an apartment in Fremont, so we took over hosting duties.

Just 2 1/2 weeks post-op, Evya's physical therapist encouraged her to start doing a little dryland backstroke.

Now that Tyrian and Hayley live closer, it's easier for them to drop by and hang out. So they came on the last weekend before Evya's school started to help launch her.
